In its 20 years of existence -meanwhile the mastermind Andreas Wahnmann also has been active in several other musical projects- FIR§T LAW released six full length CDs up to now and developed a trademark in sound research that is truly genre defying. Eta Carinae was the second album released in 2001. With this soundtrack Herbst9 continued the exploration through vast landscapes of a holy and intangible aura that started with their debut CD. In amongst spirals of multi layered drones, monumental vibrations and catacombs depths, rich and tribalised percussions rise out of the chasm and turning this album into another textured slice of ritual and archaic atmosphere.

Originally released in 2000 the second album of Predominance marked another step further into new dimensions. This classic CD edition from 2003 contains the Hindenburg material which was first released as MLP vinyl in 1998. Actually this was more than a simple re-issue of the vinyl as the CD release is an expanded edition different to the previous 6 tracks of the vinyl album. It contains four unreleased / re-recorded tracks and remixes, as well as the original Hindenburg material taken from the source archives. This album is a manifestation of symphonical songs with majestic vocals and brooding, dark ambient sonic-scapes. This album includes a exclusive remix track of INADE.

In 2005 a small Russian label, Insofar Vapour Bulk, proposed to Massimo Margini to work on a recording made by Hiroshi Hasegawa (Astro). It was a "drone-like" sound of a few minutes. Despite the difficult nature of the assignment, Massimo loved the very static and cryptic structure of the original. So, starting from this basic recording (without using additional sounds) he developed a 45 minutes long suite: it was like using a magic audio lens which revealed a myriad of hidden details in a microscopic world. The original Astro sound can still be heard at the beginning and at the end of the suite.
The re-edition comes in beautiful cardboard case with silver-embossed printing.

LOKI-PAS 32

Originally released in 2005 this album marked the beginning of Herbst9's Babylonian cycle which was later continued with "The Gods Are Small Birds..." CD and the most recent "Ušumgal Kalamma" double CD.
The natural sound stands with Herbst9 and the ritual motives developing visionary sequences. "Buried Under Time And Sand" can not be reduced to a certain basic feeling, and it can not be categorized as pure ambient music. That is simply one of the most sensitive and most concentrated records in the wide field of ritual ambient music - direct, endlessly devoured and deep.

LOKI 39

The first album from 1995, now released as CD for the third time. With AMPOS Massimo Magrini has set a standard in deeply emotional dark ambient noise and many of his following releases went in that vein of evocative intensity and monolithic sound. Strong and throbbing layers of cracked sound waves, decay and harmonize throughout the album, creating emotional and archaic soundscapes. This is a timeless masterpiece and a reference of it's genre.

What began with the previous releases, "Buried Under Time and Sand" and "The Gods Are Small Birds..." comes now to the final chapter and climax, with an epic double album, Ušumgal Kalamma:
